Jonathan Edwards is My Homeboy T-Shirt

By popular demand, we have secured the rights from Christianity Today (with many thanks to Collin Hansen and Gary Gnidovic, the guys who conceived the t-shirt design) to manufacture the Jonathan Edwards is My Homeboy t-shirts.

You too can be styling in JE-wear shortly. Watch this space for details.

There should be a contest for the best Edwards T-Shirt.

Could the back say "Young, Restless, and Reformed"? (Or in my case, drop the "Young" for "Restless and Reformed") :-D

  6. Some say, I follow Caiphas, others, I follow Apollos, and others Jonathan Edwards.

Don't get me wrong - I can see the humour in wearing something like this when you work at the JE center!! Sort of like computer geeks who by wearing tech-y in-joke T-shirts say: "I know, I'm pretty focused on this stuff, and I know there are other important things in the world, but this is my thing, and I don't take myself too seriously".

Nevertheless something grates within me about the idea of people wearing these T-shirts as a sort of spiritual label.

    Am I being too pedantic?

  7. Edwards wrote in the preface to Freedom of the Will, "I should not take it at all amiss, to be called a Calvinist, for distinction's sake: though I utterly disclaim a dependence on Calvin, or believing the doctrines which I hold, because he believed and taught them; and cannot justly be charged with believing in everything just as he taught" (YE, 1:131).

So I would say, "I should not take it at all amiss, to be called an Edwardsian, for distinction's sake: though I utterly disclaim a dependence on Edwards (well maybe not utterly), or believing the doctrines which I hold, because he believed and taught them; and cannot justly be charged with believing in everything just as he taught (for instance, I don't hold to peado-baptisism, though I see the validity of the view)."

But, of course, I wouldn't say that just because Edwards said it. :-)

Maybe we should ask WWED, What Would Edwards Do? I think he'd wear the shirt, so I want one too (But not just because he would want one). ;-)
